The South Sudan 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 World Health Organization (𝐖𝐇𝐎) have 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧ed 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 H𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧 the country.
According to the statement obtained from Ministry, the two institutions inked the agreement on Wednesday with hope to strengthen their existing efforts in improving health services in the country.
“We are thrilled to announce that the National Ministry of Health has officially signed an output agreement with the World Health Organization (WHO) as a key step in Health Sector Transformation Project (HSTP)” the statement partly read.
According to the statement, the agreement which was signed at the Ministry’s official offices has marked a significant milestone by the Ministry and the partners in strengthening healthcare across South Sudan.
Dr. Annin Ngot Ngot the undersecretary in the Ministry of Health emphasized that the agreement will greatly expand access to essential health and nutrition services, enhance stewardship in the health sector, and fortify overall health system.
“We express our heartfelt gratitude to the WHO for partnering with Ministry of Health in delivering the vital outputs of this agreement. Together, we are dedicating ourselves to improving health outcomes for all citizens” he said.
