The South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) Higher Appeals Committee has ruled in favor of Superstar FC’s appeal against the Bor Local Football Association’s (BOLFA) decision to demote the club.

Superstar FC was accused of defaming Martyrs FC of match fixing leading to their demotion and a fine of 1,000,000 SSP by BOLFA.

The match was between Martyrs FC and Salaam FC which ended in favor of Salaam.

Superstar FC had been relegated to the second division in the state league by BOLFA.

However, the club contested the decision, taking their appeal to the Higher Appeals Committee.

After a thorough review, the committee chaired by Lt General William Andrea Lado accepted Superstar FC’s appeal and nullified BOLFA’s ruling, allowing the club to retain its place in the first division.

William described BOLFA’s decision in a statement issued this week as illegal, adding that the team had a right to complain to the local association as guaranteed by the law.

Superstar FC Secretary General, Deng Akech, welcomed the decision, emphasized that it reaffirmed SSFA’s commitment to justice, transparency, and the true spirit of football.

‘’We appreciate the decision by the higher appeals committee for respecting the fair play. We don’t operate football beside the law we work with football with the law and rules or regulations of the football and if we are following the law strictly we will feel the comfort.’’ Deng said.

“In summary the decision of the board has been well received. We really apprrciate it for respecting football and fair play.” He continued.

Deng also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the club’s loyal fans and supporters, praising their unwavering dedication throughout the appeal process.
