South Sudanese civil society have called on Kenyan President Dr. William Ruto to send back Raila Odinga to Juba to meet Dr. Riek Machar.  

The Executive Directive for the Center for Peace and Advocacy (CPA) Ter Manyang reiterated that there was need to meet both President Kiir and Dr. Machar.

In his statement to the Media, Manyang urged the Kenya President to send back Raila to Juba in order to meet Dr. Machar to hear information regarding the peace obstacles with hope to get as solution together.  

“I urge President William Ruto to resend his special envoy Raila Odinga back to South Sudan to meet with Dr. Riek Machar” he appealed

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and a special envoy to South Sudan met President Salva Kiir on Thursday while on peace mission in Juba.

Raila however did not meet Dr. Machar who is under house arrest and decided to meet Ugandan President and later proceed to Kenya.

He expressed that Raila Odinga did not meet with Dr. Riek Machar, the First Vice President and civil society leaders to hear from them as it was part of the peace mission to Juba.
