South Sudan President Salva Kiir has put more pressure on country’s Foreign Affair Minister to double efforts in strengthening ties with the world.

According to the statement obtained from the presidential press unit, the head of state made the directives on Wednesday while meeting Amb. Monday Semaya Kumba Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Kiir’s call came at time the country continues to face diplomatic challenges such as the recent revocation of visas for all South Sudanese passport holders by United States of America.

The United States claimed that the Visas revocation was due to the fact South Sudan refused to repatriate some her citizens remove from US.

Despites several efforts by South Sudan government to meet US demand including accepting to repatriate some of the citizens, the visas revocation never seen a review.

In addition, some of the embassies were reported to have close down their embassies such as German embassy underscores growing international concern over the stabilityin South Sudan.

Some of the stakeholders called on the government to implement the 2018 peace agreement and bring peace back to the country in order to build strong relation with the world.

South Sudan President while meeting Foreign Affairs Minister reiterated his call for strengthening of the ties with world.

“President Salva Kiir Mayardit has called on the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Amb. Monday Semaya Kumba, to pursue a more assertive foreign policy aimed at strengthening South Sudan’s ties with regional and international partners” the statement partly read.

The President appealed to the Ambassador to ensure consistent measures inline with the interest of South Sudanese.

“President Kiir acknowledged the ministry’s efforts and urged the pursuit of consistent, proactive diplomacy aligned with the nation’s interests” The statement partly read.

Minister Semaya who briefed President on his recent diplomatic missions to the United Kingdom and Ethiopia expressed optimism in strengthening diplomacy around the world.  

The Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and promoting peace.

President Kiir acknowledged the ministry’s efforts and urged the pursuit of consistent, proactive diplomacy aligned with the nation’s interests.
